Kate Somerville - ExfoliKate® Intensive Exfoliating Treatment
In one of those regular doctor visits, where we casually browse through magazines on the coffee table (in my case, beauty magazine – duh! Not a surprise right?), I came across an interview by Kate Somerville. This name rang a bell somewhere in my head – yes, I keep seeing this brand in Nordstrom all the time! So, I got curious and went ahead and read the full(long) interview – Kate is a celebrity facialist and skin care expert in LA and most of the A-listers of Hollywood are her clients. All her products are believed to be so potent and many people rave about it.
ExfoliKate® Intensive Exfoliating Treatment is a combination of physical and chemical exfoliator. Kate had mentioned that this product was born when one of her regular client wanted her treatment in a bottle as she was going to be away from LA for a few months. It is one thing to be committed to your facialist but it is totally another level that you want to carry her service with you even when you are halfway across the world. As usual, curiosity got the better of me and I went ahead and brought the travel size for trial from Sephora.
Price: $24 for 0.5oz(mini) and $85 for 2oz.
It is called “The Hollywood 2-minute facial.”It has physical exfoliants which are neither too mild nor too abrasive – just perfect! Lactic acid and fruit enzymes— papaya, pineapple, and pumpkin make it a natural enzymatic exfoliator. It is a thin dark green paste with a subtle cinnamon scent.
Ingredients:
-Lactic Acid: Acts as a natural AHA skin exfoliator.
-Rosewood and Cinnamon Extracts: Address dull skin.
-Vitamin A: Provides antioxidant benefits.

The stains show how much it is loved! |
The instruction says
“Use once or twice a week, AM or PM.
-Apply a thin, even layer to a clean, wet face, massaging in a circular motion for 30 seconds.
-Leave on for up to two minutes.
-Rinse and gently pat dry. “
I need 2 pea seed sized drops to cover my full face. All I do is massage it gently into my skin in circular motion while in shower and rinse my face as the last step.
The scent isn't overpowering and feels a bit tingly soon after application. It makes my skin squeaky clean and it gives it a health glow. My facial skin becomes visibly soft, smooth and supple. It even removes my stubborn white heads which many physical exfoliators don’t. The effect does last at least for 2-3 days for me.
Definitely worth a try though price is a pinch point!
