Tarte Shape Tape concealer – A review

Today we are going to review one of the best beauty products of 2017 which the entire beauty community raved about! Tarte Shape Tape contour concealer!

Tarte Shape tape concealer is a full coverage concealer with a vegan formula. It applies matte and is easily blendable. Available in a wide range of shades (14!), it is priced at $27. Picking a shade or two lighter or darker makes it multitask as a highlighter or contour respectively.

The main ingredients include Amazonian clay, conditioning mango seed and shea butters and it claims to promote skin elasticity and illumination.

I got mine from Ulta.com . It can also be purchased from Tarte website. The Tarte Shape tape products are exclusive to Ulta and are not available in Sephora.

The product comes in a tube packaging with a wand. The wand is quite thick and has a sponge applicator tip. It houses 0.83oz of the product.

I have picked the shade ‘deep’ and it is a perfect match for my skin tone. Many people use concealers for 2 purposes predominantly

a.     For concealing dark circles and dark spots/blemishes

b.     For brightening under eye area

I use concealer only for concealing purposes. If you are looking for a shade match, I am NC45 in Mac and shade ‘deep’ is perfect for my under eyes.

I have had a history of dark circle problem ever since my pre-teens and it has only worsened over the past year! I have used my fair share of concealers in the market and the Shape Tape concealer is the perfect concealer that is so creamy, blends like a dream and provides full coverage. It hides my dark circles, dark spots, pigmentation, fine lines, pores, under eye bags, dark secrets, sleepless nights, bad days, ALMOST ABOUT EVERYTHING! Use a mini beauty blender or any concealer brush to apply and blend it and the finish is flawless.

Below is a sample pic to show its coverage – I recently got my thumb burnt in the kitchen, I have developed a scar. Not that I am ashamed of my scar, but I have tried to hide it for showing you folks how good the coverage is! I just applied and blended the concealer over the scar with my finger tip!

(Of course, the skin tone of my finger is not the same as my under eye, therefore the shade is not an exact match – but DO YOU SEE THE COVERAGE? THIS IS EVERYTHING!)

For my under eyes, I use an orange color corrector and use this concealer on top of it – dark circle vanishes in a jiffy!
